A beautiful monument that honors local, national and unknown heroes, can be seen at the public plaza fronting the century old St. mary Magdalene Parish church. Constructed in 1970, the monument park has an area of 485 square meters. Monuments to the Unknown soldiers of the Philippine revolution and World War II stand at both sides of the Rizal monument.

Among the heroes being honored at the monument park are Graciano Lopez Jaena, an ilongo hero and Demosthemes of the Philippines, reformer and journalist; Andres Bonifacio, the great Plebeian Founder of Katipunan; Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, General and First President of the Philippine Republic; Justice Jose Abad Santos, jurist stateman, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court; and World War II Hero, Gen. Vicente Lim, Bata-an Hero, Commander of the famous 41st Division (PA) First Filipino Graduate in US Military Academy at West Point, USA; Lt. Eduardo Siguenza Baumann, a Hinigaranon, PMA cadet and a Commander of a group of guerillas that ambushed a Japanese Patrol in Barangay Narauis in March 19, 1944 during World War II, a commander of Knob hill (Hill3155) Patag Silay on May 1945, that broke the Japanese resistance in Negros Island, was Hailed as the “Hero Officer of the day.”

The Heroes Park is the center of many Rizal Day and Independence Day celebrations, where the Philippines National Flag, and the Revolutionary War Flag are raised.
