Century-old Court Dockets
Among the priceless possessions of the Municipality of Hinigaran are the old court dockets owned by the municipal trial court of Hinigaran. The collection of handwritten volumes, which are normally kept in the court's record section details the legal matters which were heard and settled by the Justice of the Peace of the Municipality of Hinigaran during the early 20th century (1900s) while it was still under the United States Justice System.
Some of the docketed records include marriages, property settlement, criminal cases, bail hearings, and many more. It is notable to mention that while the Government at that time, including the Judicial Branch, was under the jurisdiction of the United States of America, the language primarily used in the entry of records was in Spanish.
